This choice edible is only tasty when all white (very young) and must be eaten within hours of picking lest it turn to black inky liquid, it must not be eaten with alcohol. The ink can be used with a quill to write or draw.

white cylinders with scales when young, opening into bell shapes and turning black and gooey with ageÂ

white then pink when young, turning black and liquifying with ageÂ

white with with a loose ring
suspended in inky black and liquid

grass, meadows, and sometimes gravel
