What kind of deciduous trees do you see?

Cottonwoods have rounded triangular leaves & flattened leaf stalks in an alternating pattern. In spring cottony fluff is visible on branches and floating in the air by June

Maple tree leaves

Maple has hand-shaped leaves with 3-5 lobes that grow in pairs opposite from each other.  Maples have winged helicopter seeds​

Aspen tree leaves

Aspen leaves are very round to slightly oval, with shallow teeth around the edge, aspen trunks often have black, eye shaped markings

Alder tree leaves

Alders have oval leaves with rounded or indented tips, and deeply serrated edges, arranged in an alternating pattern

Beech has oval-shaped leaves with wavy edges, very smooth light grey bark.  Beech nuts grow in bristly triangular-shaped husks
